From the Sunshine Committee: We are sad to report that Ned Williams' father passed away on the evening of May 3. The funeral will be Saturday, May 12 at 10 am at the First Congregational Church, 222 West Main Street, Waterbury. There are no callling hours. Our sympathies go out to Ned and his family.

The cleaning crew for this weekend is Audrey Novak, Michael Pantalon, Ann Patry, John Poole and Claire Potter. Please check the list on the bulletin board over the battery chargers for your assignments. This is a great time to clean as, frankly, almost no one is there and it ain't too dirty.

Dianne Kelly wants to know what you eat for breakfast, so tell her. This is an extraordinary opportunity -- when was the last time you got to dream about breakfast at *your* house? Huh? So answer her email!
(Psst-- Dianne! I think Baxter wants oatmeal with raisins. I know because I've eaten with him.)

And while you are at it, tell Carroll Brooke how much you weigh so we can buy some new boats and really try to serve the needs of the whole club. If you are shy about your weight and don't want to tell, here's what you do: go to Google and open a free gmail account under a pseudonym, like LosingFast@gmail.com, or Reallyfit@gmail.com. You've got the picture. Then write Carroll, identify your gender, rowing preferences and your age (ok, lie about that too: Paul Roy and I are going to lie about everything, because we're gonna row in Patches until she falls apart.) Then tell Carroll that you are a NHRC writing to him pseudonymously. All he needs are the statistics.
Or you could just write the guy back. Do you know what a drag it is to send out those emails & get no response?

One of the things we want to know is why, given that the number of scullers does not seem to have increased (although it is hard to tell since a lot of people are too tender to go out in the bracing weather we have had) is why there is *no room* in the rack devoted to private oars. Any ideas, or possible answers to this question, will be published in the Catch.

Mitch Berkson informs us that the Narragansett Boat Club will be hosting its annual Mayor's Cup regatta on
Saturday, May 19. More information is available at this link. Any takers?
