It's Finally Spring

One of the reasons we know that spring has sprung is that the Safety Committee (a.k.a., Paul and Roy the Safety Boys) is allowing all scullers out on the water because the Housatonic is consistently at or over 60 degrees. Yay!

The other reason you know it is spring is that the self-apointed garden committee, Ann Patry and her son, is back at work beautifying the grounds, and they are issuing an invitation to contribute plants that you are dividing in your own garden. I bet they might also like some help, for those who are so inclined and/or have not yet found their committee "calling" at NHRC. Last year on one of the work Saturdays they cleared away the weeds and debris and did some much-needed planting around the boat house. Since then, that lovely berm out front has appeared, a gift from our emeritus members John Brackett, Steve Flagg, Jim Segaloff, and Skip Clark. Ann writes: "I'm going to get over there some time over the weekend to weed and prep, and if anyone is dividing plants any additions would be appreciated." You should probably tell Ann if and when you are dropping things off, so that they can be watered regularly before they go in the ground.
