I am running for the Board of Directors. I think I have the experience to address the issues that are relevant to the club over the next two years; competitiveness in our master’s program, junior rowing and governance of the club.

Rowing Experience:
1973-76 Middletown High School,
1976-81 Yale Women’s Crew
6 National Teams competing at the World Championships (1977-1983)
2 Olympic Training Teams 1980 and 1984
Master’s rowing & racing 1985 - present

Leadership and Governing Experience in Rowing:
Captain Yale Crew 1981
Vice President Yale Crew Association 1982 - 1994
Treasurer NHRC 1986-88
Secretary NHRC 1989-91
Vice President NHRC 1992-1994
President NHRC 1995-1997
Board of Directors NHRC 2004-2007

NHRC Committee Experience:
Chaired first safety committee creating rules that are the base of our current policies
Chaired registration for both Derby Sweeps and Sculls and the Head of the Housatonic from their inceptions (1989 and 1995) until I left for Germany (2001).
Organized first tag sale fund raiser netting over $1,000
Hosted numerous TGIF celebrations, including “Henley on the Housie” night
Worked Yale races since NHRC started running their regattas
Donated time, labor and money to the building of our boathouse from early planning days through completion of building.
Organized both original Boathouse dedication dinner (June 1994) as well as 10th anniversary celebration (2004)
Created and organized Last Day of the Docks Regatta from its inception in the ‘80’s until I left for Germany (2001).
Organized and encouraged women’s participation in multiple races including Master’s National Championships and all of fall Head events bringing home countless medals for the club.

I joined NHRC in 1979 so this is my 30th year of membership. I believe that on I have a lot of experience and knowledge to bring to the board to help determine the future of the club.
